Of the 29,047 children under age 5 in East Baton Rouge Parish, 16,117 of these children are economically disadvantage? As of now, only 5,500 publicly-funded early learning seats are available which leaves 10,791 children without access.

80% of Brain Development Occurs 
by Age 3?

80% of brain development occurs by age 3. When children don’t receive access to high-quality early learning programs, they are more likely to need special education services, repeat a grade in school, drop out before high school graduation, develop chronic diseases in adulthood, and be involved with the criminal justice system. 

 

Every dollar invested in high-quality early learning produces a 13% or greater return.
